How Do Chiropractic Adjustments Work?

Chiropractic adjustments are used to lessen discomfort and repair the body’s alignment and physical function. Chiropractors do this by using their hands or unique tools to manipulate certain joints in the body.

Chiropractic care is very beneficial, and helps many different ailments, and can improve your everyday life, physically and otherwise.

Chiropractors use non-medicated treatments, which allows for an all-natural, less invasive method of recovery. Some of these treatments that they use can include:

  • Soft-tissue therapy

  • Adjustments

  • Joint bracing/taping

  • Exercises and stretches

Prior to your adjustment, you might have to go through some diagnostic tests including:

  • X-rays

  • Computed tomography (CT) scan

  • Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) scan

When you get an adjustment for your spinal vertebrae, your chiropractor puts the out of place vertebrae back into the correct places. Doing this will let go of any pressure on your pinched nerves in your back that travel into the hips and legs. This can then help improve your overall balance.

If you have respiratory issues, such as asthma, the muscles around your lung and trachea area can be adjusted to help improve your breathing.

Many other problems can be improved by chiropractic care, such as:

  • Digestive issues

  • High blood pressure

  • Joint Mobility

  • Immune system

  • Headaches/migraines

  • Energy

  • Restless sleep
